I made this as an extra credit project for one of my classes. It’s a relatively small-scale Helmholtz coil with a standard power supply 5v-25v, producing up to 50 gauss uniformly (28 AWG wire 750 winds). The box is made to hold a breadboard and Arduino, which displays the gauss based on a linear Hall effect seor. It’s a nice demo that shows that as you move the seor around, the Gaussian value remai nearly uniform. The box is made by laser cutting 1/4 inch acrylic, and everything else is 3D printed.
